So I’ve mentioned it on Facebook and Twitter, but I might as well make it official here: it’s my plan to finish my book during NaNoWriMo (if you haven’t heard about it, click here to find out why so many insane writers around the world spend the month of November cranking out 50,000 words of frantic fiction). I’ll be considered a NaNo “Rebel,” because the majority of participants go into the month fresh, not with a project they’ve already begun. Plenty of other Rebels do things besides starting a brand new novel, though, like spending November writing 50k of their thesis, or working on nonfiction, or drawing a graphic novel, or, like me, continuing or editing a novel already in progress.
This could get hairy for me, because for the second week of the month, I’m going to Palm Beach, FL, to a Tony Robbins conference with my dad and Neecie. I’m super-stoked about it, but according to the schedule, they sure keep us busy at those events (days go from 8:30am until 10:30 or 11:30pm). I can’t plan on getting much writing done during that week, so I’ll have to get ahead during the week before and play catch-up when I get home.
This will be fun.
